How To Find Low Price Car Insurance

There is always low price car insurance out there which you can use regardless of the vehicle you drive or what your driving record looks like. Of course, if you drive a brand new Hummer and have multiple speeding tickets on your record you will pay more than would a driver with a clean record and an older, less expensive car – but this does not mean you cannot save money on your insurance. By comparing the rates from different companies online, you can find low price car insurance which can help you to save.

If your agent simply shrugs when you confront him with your high premiums, find a different policy by yourself. Several online sites offer you the convenience of free car insurance quotes and it only takes a few minutes of preparation on your part.

You should prepare for your search starting about one month ahead of the renewal date for your existing policy. If you check the first page of your policy, you will be able to find some of the most important information: your premiums and the amount of coverage.

Next, check your policy to see what your deductions for collisions and for comprehensive coverage are. These are usually the same, though when they do differ, the deductible tends to be higher for collisions since this is normally more expensive.

Also look at the liability limits of your policy. These may be listed as single or split liability limits. Split limits denote the amount that the insurer will pay out in the event that you are liable for an accident. For instance, if you see that your limit is 100/300/50, this means that they will pay up to $100,000 to any person injured in the accident, up to a limit of $300,000 total for all persons injured. The 50 means that the insurer will pay for up to $50,000 of property damage caused in an accident for which you are liable.

The way that a single liability limit works is much more straightforward. There will be a single number instead of three, $300,000 for instance. A single liability limit is the total amount that the insurer will pay out in the event that you are liable for an accident, covering injury and/or personal damage.

You also have a section for medical payments, uninsured/underinsured motorist and riders like towing or rental reimbursement. The amount of coverage you carry of the uninsured/underinsured motorist should be the same. This part of the policy protects your family if an uninsured driver is responsible for an accident that causes injury to your family.

Once you have all of these numbers together, the rest of the search is simple. You can navigate to one of the insurance comparison websites and enter this information once to receive several different quotes. When you compare these quotes, you can find low price car insurance easily and see a significant savings.
